Well-designed
images
When I create
a photographic image - or a series of images - for a print publication
or a web application, content and context are just as important
to me as they are to a designer. Because of this, I bring a unique
design perspective to the photographic process, whether I'm shooting
conceptual imagery in the studio or capturing people, products or
environments on location.
My approach
is to understand as much about the client, product and design program
as possible before the shoot, offering suggestions and possible
direction where appropriate. By the time the client actually sets
foot in my studio or on location, much of the thinking, planning
and speculative work has already been done. The net result of this
collaborative effort is twofold: a more streamlined process and
a more effective final product.
The "well-designed
image" approach that I bring to each project comes from 20
years' experience as an art director, graphic designer and photographer.
I spent two years with WGBH Channel 2 (Public Television) and 18
years with Sametz Blackstone Associates (SBA) in Boston, many of
those years as a managing partner.
In addition
to my design responsibilities at SBA, I developed my own interests
with the photographic medium and was able to service the design
studios full client base - offering even greater value to our clients.
In the spring of 1996, I opened my own photography studio in South
Boston where I am still located today.
All
imagery on this site was created in-camera real time with no alterations
or additions in post production. Many
of the images you will see on this site are representative of a
larger body of work that is available for stock image use as well.
If anything shown here - or something similar - is of interest to
you, just call or email
me. I am also available and more than willing to approach a new
image as stock and will estimate accordingly.
